Block conversion of angiotensin I → II. Vessels relax, aldosterone falls, BP drops, and the kidneys are protected long-term.

Monitor
  • Potassium and creatinine — especially with K-sparing diuretics or NSAIDs on the MAR
  • BP before dose
  • Any lip/tongue/face swelling = stop and act immediately
🎓 Patient teaching

The dry cough is the classic reason people quit — report it, there are alternatives (ARBs). Avoid salt substitutes (they're potassium). Report any facial swelling immediately.
